HAVE A PROJECT? LET’S TALK

2D has invested heavily in the full automation of our production of acoustic foams and we are now capable of large volume die cutting of both sheets and rolls for delivery in pieces, rolls and of die cutting custom items of considerable size

A polyurethane or extruded melamine compound, acoustic foam is a lightweight, usually pyramid- or wedge-shaped material that prevents sound waves from bouncing off firm surfaces by absorbing them. Sound is thus dampened to a controlled degree in easy, cheap and quick fashion, making soundproofing a viable, cost-effective extra feature that may be added to numerous automotive, medical, electronic or industrial devices.

Furthermore, there are a great many options when it comes to installation, as putting acoustic foam products to work entails little remodeling before or after and does not require expert help once plans for the target destination have been designed. Speaking of the latter, we are ready to assist our clients through our dedicated R&D team by accompanying them through the whole process of product development in terms of the choice of materials, shapes and sizes and we are more than willing to get technical when it comes to the minute acoustic optimization of every nook and cranny designated for our soundproofing articles.

To note that, besides the pyramid- and wedge-shaped phonic insulation foams we mentioned in the very beginning as being commonplace in the industry, 2D further offers eggcrate acoustic soundproofing, which is an open-cell acoustic foam which provides excellent sound-deadening at competitive prices and may be complemented through the addition of acoustical cloths and fabrics.

Moreover, in a bid to provide our partners with full flexibility, we have continuously increased our portfolio of custom-made acoustic foam profiles and we take pride in letting each project speak for itself. Among these are our heavy-layer acoustic barriers that we integrate into multi-layered acoustic composites. Phonic insulation like that based on EVA or Vynil is supplied with or without self-adhesive backcoat and has constituted a good growth area for us in the past few years.

All our acoustic foam materials and acoustic fabrics are offered with optional finishes, facings and backcoats.

Further, our multilayer solutions come in both kisscut and thrucut versions. While the latter implies die cutting the whole item and delivering it piece meal, the former comes with its adhesive-coated foam rolled up entirely on the liner. This significantly simplifies application, as the operator has only to straightforwardly peel off the foam off the liner. That said, handling thrucuts may be itself made easier and to that end 2D may provide its die cuts with a fingerlift system, allowing the operator to gain purchase when peeling off the liner.

To achieve this level of customization, we have invested heavily into the full automation of our production of acoustic foams and we are now capable of large volume die cutting of both sheets and rolls for delivery in pieces, rolls and of large-sized, custom items.

Our products are UL94HF1 compliant in terms of fire-safety standards.
